You probably don't need spinal decompression. You're persistent neck pain and headaches are probably a result of weakness in the spinal musculature including the sub-occipital muscles. We would need to test the strength of the musculature to determine if this is the case.

There is a strengthening phase to the treatment once the Vax-D treatment is complete which may take up to 12 weeks depending on how week the spinal musculature is. Once the lower extremity pain is centralized we begin the rehabilitation process limiting the range of motion to avoid flexion for th first 4 weeks. After the first 4 weeks of the rehab we are able to test the patients strength and compare their strength to other men or women their age or weight. This tells us how many weeks of rehab before they will be at their age and weight matched norms. In answer to the bone loss question. There is no effect on bone loss and in fact research done on the equipment we use for rehab (MedX) showed an increase in bone density for patients following a 12 week rehabilitation program.

The majority of patients notice an improvement in their symptoms rather quickly within only a few sessions. Patients with leg pain will see the pain in their leg start to subside until the pain becomes localized to the back (centralization). This also happens relatively soon after beginning the treatment. This allows the patient to perform their normal activities of daily living or demands of employment with less pain almost immediately.
